COMPANY PROFILE
“When I started selling welding supplies, Eutectic + Castolin were the only specialist repair and maintenance welding products available in New Zealand. Many have come and gone over the years and even still today although there are heaps of competitors, both Fronius and Eutectic + Castolin products are unparalleled as industry leaders. Digitalweld’s professional expertise accentuates Fronius’ and Eutectic + Casolin’s superior quality.”
– Don Whale, founder and director, Digitalweld
Digitalweld led by trailblazer and founder Don Whale, and his sons Mark and Jason make up the technical arm of the winning team. Don began as a fitter and turner apprentice in the early 1970s at Nelson-based Anchor Shipping & Foundry Company, New Zealand’s first shipping company. He eventually took over the role of importing the world’s most innovative welding equipment.
Although Mark only joined Digitalweld in 2006, he has learned about the business by osmosis. Exposed to all the products and systems while growing up, he says “It’s in the family blood.” He’s passed his welding tickets and trained internationally with Fronius. Mark frequently travels the length the country promoting and demonstrating the latest technology available from Fronius.
Jason, a qualified Electronic and Computer engineer provides invaluable solutions for all our clients’ robotic and automation needs, along with servicing for all Fronius welding equipment. He has been with Digitalweld since its inception, having previously serviced the then Eutectic + Castolin branded welding equipment.
Wife and mother Christine is the backbone of Digitalweld, efficiently dealing with the accounts and administration of this family business.
