Opening up the world of digital plasma welding. Both for manual and mechanised or automated applications with stringent quality requirements. Among its advantages are absolutely spatter-free welding, very high welding speeds and lower weldment distortion than in the TIG process, a small heat-affected zone and a relatively long arc.

It also dispenses with time-consuming weld-seam preparation. Plasma welding is an interesting alternative for welding sheets and other components with throat thicknesses of up to 8 mm. The same goes for repair welding and for brazing, in practically all steel processing sectors and applications. This is especially true of alloyed steels.

Plasma welding systems from Fronius have a modular configuration. In conjunction with a TIG power source, a cooling unit and a plasma torch, the digital PlasmaModule 10 constitutes a complete plasma welding system. Suitable power sources may be found in the MagicWave 2200 or TransTig 2200, or in even more powerful units from these series. This is why users of a Fronius TIG welding system can now simply configure their own plasma welding systems. And easily change them back over to standard TIG welding systems again whenever they need.

The new Fronius TIG grinder has a sealed chamber for collection of all grinding residue demonstrating an eco-friendly way to perfect accurate angles on tungsten electrodes – and therefore perfect TIG welding.

The device is used for sharpening and cutting the tungsten electrodes that are used as the electrodes for TIG welding torches. The angle of the tip is infinitely variable and is digitally displayed. The separator allows electrodes of any minimum length to be created. The flat side of the grinding disc is used to grind lengthwise along the electrode. This produces optimum tip formation.
A choice of 3 grinding tracks is available to increase the service life of the grinding disc.
The electrode holder accurately positions the electrodes for grinding. This ensures precise and repeatable creation of the electrode tip.
There is a separate clamping sleeve for each electrode diameter; this ensures that the electrode is securely located in the electrode holder.
The use of grinding fluid and a container avoids harmful grinding dust emissions.
